This post documents my experience on September 23, 2022.
I stopped at St. Agnes Church in Fort Wright, Kentucky…

…to visit their annual Oktoberfest…
…and it was a festival filled with games.
At one corner of the festival…

…kids played various games for tickets…
…and redeemed them for prizes.
Around the corner, there was a row of more games for children and adults alike…
…where people could win crazy hats…
…and cans of Pringles with a toss of the ring.
And still the games and prizes continued with yet another turn…
…where ring tosses now won you bottles of bourbon…

…and other games paid out cash winnings.
Festival goers could even up the stakes in the Silent Auction Tent…
…where prizes were a-plenty…

…including some great bourbon baskets…
…and this impressive Blanton’s set (which included the wooden Kentucky stand).
But the big game here was called the grand raffle…
…and two winners could split a pot (40% and 5%) of sales climbing to $24 thousand!
But the festival wasn’t only about games.
There was a carnival area…

…with various rides for the kids…
…and if the funnel cake didn’t spike their sugar levels…
…the Holy Donuts would do the trick.
For the adults, there was a Beer Garden…
…which was conveniently placed by the music stage…
…and the dining tent.

Festival goers has such food options as LaRosa’s pizza, Skyline chili…
…and the German Grill tent, which offers brats, burgers and sauerkraut balls.

I went with a Goetta cheese burger with Ghost Pepper cheese (making this cheese selection creates a big cheer among the volunteers)…
…and it really did hit the spot.
