And introducing the California Festival Guide!
Hello and welcome, Festival Fans, to California’s first Upcoming Festival Weekend post at Festival Guides and Reviews.
Every Wednesday, I will write a post to let you know what festivals are coming up that weekend with a map of the festival cities so that you can see where the festivals are going on around you.
In order to keep up with weekly posts, you can either check back at the Festival Guides and Reviews blog page, find my post on the California Festivals Facebook page, or you can Subscribe for email notifications when these new posts come out.
At any time of the week, month or year, you can refer back to the brand new California Festival Guide, a comprehensive listing of over 2000 festivals throughout the state. Festivals listed consist of Food, Music, Art, Cultural, and Community Festivals, as well as County Fairs and some Rodeos and Art Shows.
It is my newest, of 28, state festival guides that I tend to (all of the guides can be found HERE), and the California Festival Guide should be relatively complete by mid-October.
But it will never be finished, so-to-speak, as I am constantly tending to Festival Guides, adding and updating Festival Guides on a daily basis.
When you get a chance, please go and visit the California Festival Guide and be sure to watch the video on how to use it. Since it is a newer festival guide, I invite you to let me know if you like it, how it could be better and what festivals I am missing.

For this weekend’s festivals, there are many to choose from with all sorts of Oktoberfests, Food Festivals, Cultural Festivals and more.
The Avocado Festival is this weekend, as well as a Gourmet Fast Food Festival called CHAINfest. There’s also festivals celebrating Menudo, Black Cowboys, Goddesses, Johnny Appleseed, Pumpkins, Pow Wows and more.
While there is a concentration of this weekend’s festivals around San Francisco/San Jose and Los Angeles, you can find festivals all along the coast, as far north as Fort Jones, as far south as San Diego and as far west as June Lake and Palm Springs.
Just check the map to see where you can find them.
And since there are so many, I will put some interesting-sounding festivals in bold so that you don’t miss them.
