This post documents my experience on August 25, 2018.
Just a three minute walk from Michigan’s tallest flagpole…
…is St. Mary Queen of Creation Catholic Parish…
…host of St. Mary’s Family Festival.
Just passed the inflatables…
…and inside this tent…
…festival goers could find a children’s carnival area…
…with games of skill…

…games of chance…
…and a prize redemption center to cash in any tickets won.
Meanwhile, game-loving adults could either go to the Vegas Room and Bingo games…
…take part in the various raffles…
…or make a bid at the impressive silent auction…

…which offered everything from vintage Spider Man comic books to outdoor chairs and umbrellas…
…not to mention a hammock!
Being a church festival, the festival offered blessed metals and rosaries, religious literature…
…and the possibility to pray…
…but this was also a festival that was fun…

…with great food and drink possibilities…

…(purchased through tickets from designated tables)…
…all to be enjoyed with a little bit of Rod Stewart (The Legend Brothers Show).
Other activities included children’s crafts…
…face painting…
…and shopping either at the Country Store…

…consisting of all sorts of crafts…
…or in the neighboring building…

…where there was a nice book sale.
This building was also set up for special dinners…
…which weren’t quite ready when I was there…

…although the desserts made me consider waiting.
