This post documents my experience on September 8, 2017.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: I arrived at a weird mid-afternoon time right after some rain had passed through Carnegie, PA.

I came to St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church…
…to not only check out the beautiful hand-painted artistry on the walls…
…and the beautiful decor inside…
…but to check out a food festival I had read about online.
Signs led me down these stairs…
…and through these doors.
I was first greeted by a raffle…

…where there were many food-appropriate raffle prizes.
I then continued into the dining hall…
…where there was a stage area for entertainment…

…a great-looking bakery counter…
…and a main window to order food.
I talked with volunteers who led me to the kitchen so that I could check out the pierogi…
…stuffed cabbage…
…kielbasa and kebobs…
…and halushie galore (with farfalle pasta although egg noodles are also used)!
After my kitchen tour, I was given a rather delicious pierogi to try (really incredible)…
…and then invited me to go upstairs…
…so that I could see the church museum…
…filled with plenty of church history, cultural information…
…and interesting displays.
Obviously, all that education made me peckish and I nabbed a kielbasa kebob before getting back on the road.
