YpsiFest – Ypsilanti, Michigan – My Experience

This post documents my experience on September 22, 2019.

Along Ypsilanti’s Cross Street…

…and throughout Riverside Park (even Frog Island at times)…

…the Ypsilanti Heritage Festival, or YpsiFest, took place…

…uniting community groups to bring awareness to our land (Southeast Michigan Land Conservancy)…

…our sustainability (Ypsilanti Food Co-op)…

…our veterans and youth (VVA310/Ypsi Kids)…

…our government and faith (MI Issue 2/Emmanuel Lutheran)…

…our homeless (Groundcover News)…

…our recovering (Huron Valley Area Intergroup)…

…and even our animal friends (G.R.A.C.E./Rainbow Feathers).

Vendors lined the pathways…

…selling a great variety of items that included jewelry…

…clothing…

…wooden and bullet pens…

…wooden swords and shields…

…metal sculptures (Bryant K Tubbs)…

…paintings (Paint and Pour)…

…and Ypsilanti Fashion (Ypscity)…

…while food trucks offered everything from gyros to Mexican…

…and tons of snacks in-between (left – Naughty Boys).

Most impressive about the festival was that there was plenty to see and do…

…as there were inflatables…

…a petting zoo…

…a health fair with screenings…

…antique engines…

…crafts…

…duck racing…

…archery…

…plenty of robotic fun (Grizzly Robotics)…

…and entertainment via action and stunts on the Ring of Steel stage…

…various musical performances at the River Theater and Beer Garden…

…and even a teenage comedy…

…that was rather impressive.
