Bastille Days is a French themed festival in downtown Milwaukee around Cathedral Square Park. The festival offers plenty of entertainment, food vendors with all sorts of French foods, vendors and an Eiffel Tower.

As the Eiffel Tower stood proudly in Cathedral Square Park…
…festival goers were either enjoying a glass of wine at the Garden Bistro…
…standing in line for a freshly made beignet…
…attaching a love lock to benefit Habitat for Humanity…

…or asking for a pack of Gauloises…
…in honor of Bastille Days.
This was a festival where it was fun to explore…
…to either find yourself a nice table in the shade along the Cathedral Square Park lawn…

…or a spot at one of the shaded bar islands scattered about the grounds.
You could discover a row of psychics for some love life advice…
…or enter St. John’s Cathedral…
…for wisdom on some of life’s more difficult questions.
And you could head to one of the four stages…
…and be entertained by some great performances (The Fire Guy)…
…or you could entertain yourself through shopping…

…where offerings ranged from designer clothing and decorative sculptures…

…to headbands (KT Quality Accessories) and windchimes (WillowRokk Coterie)…
…with some cowhides in-between.
But I think the most rewarding exploration involved finding all the French food at the festival…

…as you could feast on macarons and poutine (Le Reve Patisserie/Rumpus Room)…

…flambe french pizzas (North Shore Boulangerie), various types of crepes

…sandwiches on bagettes, waffles, ice cream a-plenty (Cedar Crest)…
…and still the options continued…
…until you found yourself saying, “Fromage.”
