Weekend Festivals, helping those affected by the fires and new State Guides and a proposal.
Welcome back, Festival Fans.
First of all, I wanted to offer my prayers to those affected by the wild fires in the Los Angeles area. I can’t imagine the loss and fear many of you have been experiencing lately.
And, while I will personally be donating to local non-profits to help those struggling, I have also decided to donate advertising money earned from January traffic on the California Festival Guide.
You likely noticed the advertising while going through the guide. Now, when you plan your festivals through the year, you can know that your traffic will translate into income – which will be donated to the following two organizations: the Pasadena Humane Society and the American Red Cross.
Concerning festivals in the Los Angeles area, I will try my best to stay on top of those festival locations also affected by the fire. One festival this weekend, Calibash in Los Angeles, has been moved to March 7.
If you know of other festivals cancelled or postponed, please write to me and let me know so that I can update the listing immediately.
Also, I am thinking of trying something different with these weekly Upcoming Weekend Posts…
Instead of writing a post, what if I simply put the map at the start of the California Festival Guide? That way, it would be there as you checked out what was going on this weekend. I would change the map every week.
Let me know what you think.
In a worse-case scenario, maybe I’ll try it for a few weeks until things pick up at least.

This weekend, you could be eating well at the Napa Truffle Festival, the Chowder Cook-Off in Westwood or the Lunar New Year Festival in Monterey Park. Plus there are some Street Fairs and Markets that may have a must-try food truck.
Nature Lovers – the Morro Bay Winter Bird Festival runs Thursday through Sunday.

At Festival Guides and Reviews, I have finished a new State Festival Guide – Kansas.
The Guide holds more than 500 festival listings with plenty of Pow Wows, Rodeos, Wizard of Oz themed Events and more. It’s worth a look.
The Colorado Festival Guide, which I’m working on now, already has more than 600 and it’s looking like a big festival state. I should have that done by next weekend.
