This post documents my experience on September 9, 2017.
After a free ride to the grounds, thanks to a volunteer in a golf cart…
…I checked out the offerings of the Hempfield Township Community Days.
Community was the perfect name, as booths represented the local library (GHAL)…
…the local fire department (Hempfield Bureau of Fire)…
…the local Kiwanis Club (of Greensburg)…
…and a local organization to bring awareness to the dangers of impaired driving (Drew’s Crew Saving One).
Local interests were extended politically to save the library (from above)…
…or elect particular officials…

…and I loved that the Democrat and Republican booths…
…were separated by the Greensburg Seventh Day Adventist Church to keep the peace.

Vendors were also local, selling pottery, Tupperware…
…and a slew…

…of LuLaRoe.
There was also a craft area with more interesting vendors…
…who sold jewelry…
…and cool solar panel lamps.
The festival offered a nice selection of food…
…including various BBQ choices (Hawgee Style)…
…Asian dishes…
…sandwiches…
…and the mandatory funnel cake.
Concerning activities, kids had plenty to do via games…
…face painting…
…and a Kids Zone area…

…equipped with inflatables and an activity pavilion.
Meanwhile, adults could get lucky with Horse Patty Bingo…

…or take in some entertainment from two stages.
I, myself, found delight in finally meeting Steely McBeam as he waved his Terrible Towel.
