This post documents my experience on August 16, 2019.
When I first arrived in Montrose, I admit that the carnival first grabbed my attention…
…as it was pretty sizable with plenty of rides…
…various games…
…and a lot of carnival food…
…but I was more interested in what saw across the way…
…since the carnival was only a part of the Montrose Blueberry Festival.
Along with the carnival, the festival’s flea market and craft area was pretty impressive…
…offering a range of items, including books…
…garments…
…handbags…
…jewelry…
…a large selection of knives…
…marijuana themed T-shirts…
…and a cornucopia of fun.
There was local honey (Cab Hobby Honey)…
…wild game jerky…
…gourmet dog treats (Dog Gone Delicious)…
…really cool solar lights (Robin’s Creations)…

…ATV and gun raffles…
…booths held by groups in the community (Montrose Veterinary Hospital)…
…and even a booth where you could get close with parrots and cockatoos (for a fee).
In terms of entertainment, there was a beer tent area…
…where a band played in the evenings.
There were also various food trailers spread about…
…with tacos…
…steak tips…
…and special pulled pork dinners (Oasis Shrine Club).
But if you were looking for blueberries, you needed to head to the welcome tent…
…where you could purchase blueberry pies…
…different types of blueberry baked goods…
…and pints of blueberries from the state (these are from Traverse City).
A second option for blueberry items was the Boy Scouts trailer…
…while not specifying “blueberry” items on the menu, had just that…
…as I purchased this blueberry muffin from them (it came from Montrose Orchards).
And, if you need a third option, I sincerely recommend the pancake breakfast…
…where you can get an endless supply of blueberry pancakes (with blueberry syrup) and sausage…
…and you’ll definitely get seconds!
