St. Thomas More Applefest – Mooresville, Indiana – My Experience

This post documents my experience on September 22, 2019.

I walked onto the grounds of St. Thomas More Church

…for their annual Applefest…

…stopping first at a large tent…

…where festival goers examined tons of prizes in the huge basket raffle…

…and then continuing to the Wine Spot, where adults enjoyed wine and beer…

…during a friendly game of corn hole.

At the nearby Kid Zone, kids could head into the gaming tent…

…where there were some humorous games…

…apple-y games…

…and a corn box for the wee little ones…

…and they could go on a pony ride.

But if they were looking for something a little more thrilling…

…the back end of the festival had an entire carnival area…

…complete with various types of rides…

…carnival games…

…and decadent snacks.

Of course, the festival also served treats…

…as well as a full menu here…

…with sandwiches, sides, and apple foods (apple butter, slices apples and caramel, apple cider)…

…but you needed to pay in Apple Cash…

…which could be purchased at the Information Table.

The festival continued inside the church building…

…where there was free religious literature…

…a magic show at designated times…

…and a craft fair in the gym…

…where festival goers could find assorted crafts…

…honey and beeswax products…

…kids’ bows and arrows…

…special offers and coupons (Maurices)…

…and the bake table…

…covered with apple breads, apple cakes…

…some impressive apple pies…

…and a delicious slice of caramel apple pie that I enjoyed immensely.
