Upcoming Festival Weekend: July 27-30, 2023

Harry Potter, UFO’s, Goetta, Pierogi, Hot Dogs, Rain Day and tons of Cultural Fests!

Welcome back, festival fans.

It’s already the last weekend of July – where does the time go?

Looking at all the festivals this weekend, it seems that the big festival states are Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Western New York, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

But there is such an interesting mix of festivals overall.

For the magical and extraordinary, there are two Harry Potter-esque Festivals going on this weekend in Tennessee and North Carolina, while there’s UFO Days in Wisconsin with a flying saucer toss, UFO bus tours, UFO speakers, cosmic speakers, pro wrestling and a grand parade.

Some great food fests are also going on. Along with the two Hot Dog Festivals in Frankfort, Indiana and West Virginia, the huge Pierogi Fest is going on in Whiting, Indiana as well as Glier’s Goettafest along the Ohio River in Newport, Kentucky.

Meanwhile, Rain Day in Wayneburg, PA’s is always July 29 because it has rained this day 117 out of the last 149 years. So they celebrate with a festival and it just so happens to fall on a Saturday this year. I like that the festival actually embraces the rain.

There are also all sorts of great Festivals this weekend celebrating Peruvian, Ghanaian, Japanese, Latino, Greek, Puerto Rican, Native American, Italian, Arab, Ukrainian, Irish, Polish, Serbian, Chinese, Swiss, German and Hmong Cultures.

Should be a lot of great eating at those festivals.
