Many Spring Festivals, plus Flowers, Chocolate, Banana Pudding, Hot Slaw and more!
It’s another weekend where there are all sorts of great festivals going on.
The first state I want to bring your attention to is the state of Tennessee. Not only is the Big Ears Festival going on in Knoxville, there’s also an Elvis Festival in Franklin, Mule Day in Columbia and some tasty food fests, like the Atoka BBQ Fest, Cleveland’s Hot Slaw Festival and the Cookeville Banana Pudding Festival.
Georgia also has a Banana Pudding Festival in Irwinton, along with an International Festival in Athens, a Dogwood Festival in Perry, a Swampfest in Waycross and a Spring Festival in Atlanta.
In fact, there are many Spring Festivals going on in states in just about every state and two Chocolate Festivals just in time for Easter.
There are also festivals celebrating Drink (Wine, Beer, Bourbon, Whiskey, Margaritas), Flowers and Plants (including Daffodils, Cherry Blossoms and Wisterias), Critters (Rooster, Mule, Mudbugs, Pigs, Pets), Food (Tacos, Taters, Chicken Wings, Chili), Music (Rock, Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz) and so much more.
Look at the map – it’s a colorful collection of pins (like a springtime floral bouquet), showing that events are picking up in most of the states. This will continue to be the case as we get through Easter.
Maybe in these weekly posts, once Easter passes, I’ll start highlighting what festivals I think are interesting in each state. What do you think about that?
