Earth Day and 420 make this an interesting weekend, plus Hillbillies, Ramps, Crawfish and Tattoos.
Just look at the map, festival fans, because it’s a wonderful weekend. There are festivals going on all over and some of some of these festivals seem spectacular.
Like last week, I have given you a state-by-state breakdown below for the festivals that really stick out to me.
I’m particularly envious of Kentucky’s festivals this weekend. I’ve always wanted to go to the Hillbilly Festival in Pikeville (and won’t be able to this year, unfortunately) and there are some other great-sounding festivals this weekend as well like Colonel Fest in Corbin and the White Squirrel Arts Festival in Bowling Green.
But Kentucky isn’t the only state with great festivals.
South Carolina has a Grits Festival, Virginia has a Moonshine Festival, Delaware has a Bacon Festival, and Illinois has a Pretzel Fest.
There are festivals this weekend about Pirates, Sassafras Tea, Ragtime, Cigar Box Guitars, Flip Flops and more.
If you like eating festivals, Strawberries, Ramps and Crawfish are what’s in season.
If you like music festivals, you won’t be disappointed as there are music festivals in all sorts of genres like Ragtime, Blues, R&B, Bluegrass, Honky Tonk, Rock.
If you are into Tattoos, a few states have festivals that will keep you covered.
And, whether you celebrate Earth Day or like a toke or two on 4/20, you will most likely find a celebration in most of the states. I was actually a little surprised to see as many Cannabis Festivals as there are (and I’m sure the food there is delicious).
There really is a lot to do this weekend, so be sure to look at the map and see what’s around you, keeping in mind that there may be more than one festival in a city.
