Over 200 Festivals this Mother’s Day Weekend.
It’s going to be a festival-filled weekend with plenty of great-sounding ones. I’m actually a little envious of many of the festivals I won’t be able to attend this weekend, so I’ll try and push them onto you so that I may enjoy them vicariously through your experiences (feel free to write me afterward and tell me all about them).
Being the cryptid lover that I am, I’m most envious about the Smoky Mountain Bigfoot Festival going on in Townsend, Tennessee. This would definitely be my kind of festival! And, if I was in Tennessee now, I would also be tempted to check out the Let’s Brunch Festival in Memphis, the Cornbread and Moonshine Festival in Granville, the Southern Fried Food Truck Festival in Ooltewah, and the first weekend of their Renaissance Festival in Arrington.
If I lived in St. Augustine, Florida, I could take advantage of at least 4 festivals going on in that city this weekend: a Food and Wine Festival, a Springtime Farm Festival, the Gamble Rogers Music Festival and a Craft Brewers’ Festival. Nice going, St. Augustine!
Other festivals to consider this weekend include the Mother’s Day Powwow and Indian Festival in Canton, Georgia, the actual Mother’s Day Founder Festival in Grafton, West Virginia, various Cinco de Mayo festivals throughout the states, 2 Hippie Festivals in North Carolina (not to mention a Woodstock Festival in Alabama) and all sorts of festivals celebrating Flowers/Blossoms, Beer/Wine/Tequila, BBQ, Music and Cultures.
